In the last four years, I got 2 raises and a bonus at my crappy job before ditching it for a decent job. I have a healthy credit score and bank account again and heating oil is dirt-cheap. Life's been getting pretty boring. Biden should make life interesting again.

During the Trump years, most students were bringing in presents and saying 'Merry Christmas' or 'Happy Hanukkah.' Never erase cultural traditions--just add to them for newcomers. :)
I no longer need to itemize my tax returns for the first time in15 years in order to eek out the highest return! The standard deduction is larger. What the hell am I supposed to do with those extra 20 hours a year I save from doing my returns and all the extra taxes I no longer owe!!! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!one!
No lie, the Branch Covidians in my small Oregon town want roadblocks and checkpoints, enforced at gunpoint, to prevent people from entering our town and possibly bringing in the WuFlu. They also want all businesses closed indefinitely and mandatory curfews and quarantines. These useful idiots would eagerly march themselves into boxcars headed for the camps if Kate Brown ordered it, and they would report anyone that failed to comply.
If you own a business they will report you to the state and local government for any violations of masking, "social distancing", etc. I have friends that own restaurants and bars here who have been reported multiple times. They will also attack you and your business on social media and boycott you. One local business recently wrote to the Governor asking her to do the lockdowns by zip code instead of county, because in our area we have few cases. When the local newspaper reported on this the business and the owner were trashed on social media by the Branch Covidians.
As an individual they can't do much other than attack you on social media and, more rarely, confront you in person. No one has ever confronted me, but I have friends that have been harassed by them. I know of one person who works at the local hospital that was confronted and threatened with being reported to the hospital because she wasn't wearing a mask outside. These people are authoritarian to the core and would have anyone that disagrees with them rounded up and killed if they had the power to do so.
This town is pretty evenly split politically, but we are in a Democrat run county so the Sheriff is of no help. Our media here is 100% Democrat activist controlled. Our mayor is a Republican as are the majority of our city council, but the city is actually under control of the City Manager, an unelected bureaucrat who happens to be a Democrat.
There are enough Branch Covidians here to force businesses into compliance, and the city, county and state will enforce every edict from the Governor. In addition to fines, the state will pull the liquor license of any bar or restaurant that violates lockdown edicts.
