California, right now, has a continuing legal education course that reminds attorneys that they have an ethical (read, enforceable) obligation to protect the confidential information of their clients, even in the face of death threats.

An attorney had a client that owed money to some loan sharks. The attorney had sent a letter to the client, which was returned, due to a bad address (he did not know what was wrong with the address). The loan shark called on the attorney, threatened his life and those of his family, if he did not give up the location of his client.

The lawyer gave the loan shark the bad address, the loan shark figured out the right address, and killed the client.

The attorney was punished for disclosing the **wrong mailing address ** of the client.

THAT is the standard for a CA attorney who is not protected by the Democrat party.

PSA: Judges get death threats all the time.

It's not an excuse. When you accept a position like that, and you accept all the power and money that comes with it, you accept that duty to the nation.

If they are getting death threats, they need to make it public, get protection set up (hello state police), send their families to stay somewhere safe under guard , and discharge their duties.

Barring that they need to resign.

There is nothing honorable or acceptable about pretending nothing is happening and making false rulings.

If we can ask the lowliest private to risk his life every day we can certainly demand these fat cat judges who enrich themselves off the backs of taxpayers to assume risk as well or at least let someone who will take his place.
