Per @Any_Volunteers: R electors casting votes also ensures that @realDonaldTrump’s pending legal challenges cannot be dismissed as moot. This was a critical procedural (elector challenge path) and legal (court path) step that had to occur. And these individual electors are courageous for doing so.
Also @Any_Volunteers: EC electors vote today, as per Fed Law. Trump sends R slate to vote in States in dispute. One slate is certified at present, Ds. Trump working over next weeks to have SLs/Courts de-certify Ds and retro-certify R slates, so Rs electors can be counted by Congress on 1/6.
