This is just a reminder to everyone to keep praying every day!

Pray for President Trump and his family's safety, guidance, courage, strength, wisdom, and good health. Pray for his legal team as well, and all those working tirelessly for our cause.

Pray multiple times per day. Pray with other faithful pedes. Pray wherever and whenever you can.

With God, all things are possible. The Gates of Hell shall not prevail against us.

Jesus, I trust in You!

I'm only now coming back to religion. Can you ELI5...It was my understanding that God does not intervene with humans, and that's why we have the ability to think and judge on our own. We are then judged on the actions we took. Example being, there are SCORES of very successful atheists, people killed in a car wreck, die of cancer etc...is not part of God's plan...shitty things simply happen. How many Chistians over the years have been persecuted, murdered, etc? Was God simply 'letting it happen'?
This is a serious question. Not a jab at all! A pastor gave a whole sermon on this subject. He did not bring prayer into it though so it's not the whole story which is why I'm asking. God bless you OP.

I also want to say, I love that this forum is full of atheists and they never bash the religious based posts. (Well, except for Islam)

God created you to be with Him, that is the ‘why’ question that has been with humanity for decades. We rebelled in the beginning when Adam ate of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Sin came into the world, which we inherited as our nature.

Sin became natural to us and God is the epitome of holy. He is separate from us because of our sin.

God is a just God and cannot allow sin to exist so the wages of sin is death, or the eternal damnation of the soul (we are eternal beings).

God loves us deeply and is very merciful. He knew we could not repay those wages on our own and sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to be a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus was born of a Virgin, Mary.

Jesus took the punishment we were due and paid for our sins on the cross. He died and rose again three days later, and this is crucial, because if Jesus did not rise, we are still in our sins and our faith is in vain.

He rose again so that all who would believe on Him shall be saved. This doesn’t mean you go back to living how ever you feel like it. Remember, God’s kingdom has no place for sin. We are called to believe in Jesus, repent and follow him.

Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but through me. The most commonly quoted verse is God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believed in Him would not perish but have ever lasting life.

If you’re looking for some more reading, the road to Romans is a decent read but I’d also recommend getting straight into scripture and reading through Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Personal preference, I like to stick to the NASB or KJV of the Bible and avoid some of the other translations.

I’ll pray for you and if you have any questions that I can help you with please reach out.
