the Legislature of a State is the deciding entity per the constitution. No other entities are mentioned

So the majority Republican state legislature in all contested states has the decision which electors to verify? I'm still a wee bit confused.

Also Thank you for your insight!

Clause 2. Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress; but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

They decide 'the manner in which the electors are selected.' They decided on a popular vote. This is a hail mary if I've ever seen one. I'm happy that people are fighting tooth and nail but I don't see any way that this works. I'll eat my words if this is what does it but I'm ignoring the hype on this one.

Yeah, the manner the legislature directed was by the result of the popular vote. Would be tough to convince SCOTUS that the legislature is allowed to change their mind.

The second set of electors has no legal standing, this is all just political theater unfortunately. The electors from those states could be thrown out but you can't just turn around and pick other electors instead. We've already seen that the SC doesn't have our backs on this they will never allow it.
