I was shafted too... but there's nothing we can do.

We accepted their stupid terms.

"The cadidate that has the most projected electroral college votes won at the 2020 presidential election". That's it. That's what settles the market.

They made a lot of corrections along the way, including stating they would wait till all legal challenges were finalised.

Whose projection? Aren't they sealed?

Yes, they are sealed. But you can get a projection out of the voting act of today.

"This market will be settled according to the candidate that has the most projected electroral college votes won at the 2020 presidential election"

Then they add:

"Any subsequent events such as a "faithless elector" will have no effect on the settlement of this market."

Meaning, if there are "faithless electors" (an elector who does not vote for the candidates for U.S. President and U.S. Vice President for whom the elector had pledged to vote and instead votes for another person for one or both offices or abstains from voting) it's only the projection that counts for the settlement of the market.

So, they're blindly settling? Sounds rigged

Not blindly.

If X amount of democrat electors go and cast their vote as they did today, then it's projected that those X amount of electoral votes are projected for democrats.

That's it.

The Betfair rules were: "This market will be settled according to the candidate that has the most projected electroral college votes won at the 2020 presidential election"

As of today Biden has the most projected electroral college votes.

We accepted those rules. We lost the bet. Stupid of us, but simple enough.
