should have read the terms. i cancelled my predictit bets because it clearly said "popular vote" not electoral votes. and we all know who's news they prefer.

The T&C said it would come down to the 12th Amendment if neither candidate reached 270 EC votes. It would be possible to argue back and forth for days on what counts and what doesn't so I don't see why they couldn't just wait until January 20th.

it was based on electoral votes and the title said "Next President"

Never used these kind of betting sites, so not sure how they work. But if you used your credit card to pay for the bet, and it was within the last three months, you might be able to do a charge back via your credit card company.

You claimed too late.

Got to read the fine print before you bet.

Unless the bed was about who gets inaugurated on 20 January 2021, then you are out of luck, I'm afraid.

Read the rules.

It was always going to close with the candidate who had the most electoral college votes.

I lost money too. But that was the rules stated on the website.

Hopefully you didn't put too much money down.

You can try to get in touch with them, but I doubt anything will come of it, they settled the market already.

if its most EC votes, right now we only have a "projected" EC vote count. It could change on jan 6

Sorry, I should have wrote "projected"

Betfair is a bit shit really. I hate when they close a market, they take it down and you can't pull up the rules again.

The only reason I remember is I checked them earlier today on the exact wording. Been fucked over before.

it depends on how the bet was advertised when placing the wager... i bet on sports interaction and my bet for the election was to be settled . when either candidate conceded or was inaugurated on jan 20th .. have to read fine print when gambling. other state bets were already decided and wont be changed with over turning or protest . they more that likely decided the bet on biden winning 270 electoral votes and you wont be able to challenge or win the bet with over turning the election results ..

tl dr they cheated you lost ...

I'm so pissed. Oh well lesson learned I guess. Can't trust anyone.
