As we are working towards building relationships with our guest we also to ensure the safety of our employees and customers. We would like to express our deepest apology and ensure that the behavior of our associates are handled in a professional manner. We would like to inform you that any customers not wearing a mask for any medical related reason will be allowed to shop. We again would like to apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused. Please feel free to contact me as I would most certainly hope to hear from you and continue to be the local liquor store of your choice.
The thing is HIPAA SHOULD prevent anyone from even ASKING you AT ALL. You should never even have to SAY "I have a medical condition." Just being asked breaks HIPAA law.
You do need to state, "I have a medical exemption." (NOT a medical condition.) It is a HIPAA violation for them to ask you to name or describe the reason for your exemption and to require proof or explanation of said medical exemption.
yup
