I would also like to point out, after rereading Barr's letter and Trump's tweet, neither Barr nor Trump said resign or fired. Trump appointed an Acting AG ONLY. Barr could come back all fire and brimstone locking up 1000's after "leaving" for a Christmas vacation with family.

Or to allow POTUS to appoint another AG from his available options. He probably could not get the Senate to confirm a new appointment, but as I understand it, he can re-appoint someone who has already been confirmed in the past, as he did with Bill Barr.
