Dear XXXXXXXX:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the peaceful transition of presidential power. I am glad to have your comments on this matter.

The U.S. Constitution ensures all Americans enjoy the right to vote. I believe the integrity of elections in the United States is fundamental to the rule of law and the protection of our rights. I understand this is a time of uncertainty in our nation. More than 156 million people cast a ballot this election, and election officials and poll workers across the country have worked overtime to ensure every legal vote - whether cast in-person or by mail - is counted.

I have every confidence there will be a peaceful transition of powers. If there are irregularities, a sitting president is well within their rights to seek legal remedies in court just like any presidential candidate, and they have an obligation to present clear evidence and do so as quickly as possible. On January 20th, 2021, our nation will inaugurate a new president, as we have done every four years since the inauguration of George Washington in 1789.

While this process may feel drawn out to some, legal challenges are not unprecedented. In the 2000 presidential election, Al Gore did not concede he had been defeated until December 13th, 2000. In the weeks following the 2000 election, the American people waited as the court process played out, and once it concluded, the results were accepted. I had faith in the process which led to that result, just as I have faith in the process happening now.

When the U.S. House of Representatives meets on January 6th, 2021, to certify the results of the Electoral College vote, every American should have confidence in the outcome. The peaceful transition of power is one of the single greatest features of our democracy. Every four or eight years, the most powerful person in the world steps aside to allow their successor, chosen by the people, to lead. We must not allow the sanctity of our elections to be tainted by partisan politics.

I appreciate having the opportunity to represent Texas in the United States Senate. Thank you for taking the time to contact me.

Sincerely,

JOHN CORNYN

United States Senator

I'm Texan and I seriously fucking hate Cornyn with a God damn passion.

But it was either him, or some slimy fucking Democrat.

I hate the fact that NO ONE in our great state decided to unseat the fucker. No one. Zip. Nadda.

Bigtime RINO.

Biggest RINO in Texas unfortunately.

Dude said he spoke for all Texans when he told Trump that the wall was not going to be built in Texas.

I promptly emailed him that day and told him to rightly fuck himself because he does not speak for me.

The peaceful transition of power is contingent on a fair election. We did not have a fair election. If Biden wants to be president, he will president of a nation in ruins and reeling from millions dead from civil war.

These fuckers all know it was massive fraud and they don't care, all they want is more money and power.

I remember the peaceful transition in Jan 2017, in fact, the "peaceful" transtiotn is still ongoing, the dems may accept for 1 minute before noon on the 20th, the DJT is president, at least for a minute, maybe..

RINO shithead already working with Biden to massively ramp up immigration and pass an amnesty bill. Guarantee it.

Just look at his voting record.

I'm so fucking pissed that no one MAGA in our great state ran for the Senate against that RINO piece of shit.

I stopped reading at "156 million". He's always been a piece of shit. I feel dirty having voted for him.

At least you got a polite "fuck you for voting for me" reply. I got nothing. Hopefully we can find a patriot to primary him next time.

Same.

I'd rather have a RINO who votes conservative because pressure, than some Democrat liberal who votes liberal every time.

But with Cornyn, does it really make a difference?

I know I'm stating the obvious to most of you, but as someone who manages communications for a living, he did not write this. This was carefully crafted by whoever that is for him, every word vetted and approved.

Yes. So much effort to carefully tailor and express his level of noncommittment.

People don't understand that this had always been Cornyns plan. From day 1, he was against Trump. I noticed it and tried my hardest to warn people and hopefully bring light to this RINO. I desperately wanted someone in Texas to step up and unseat the fucker.

He had basically zero opposition in the primary.

I seriously fucking hate Cornyn.

Swamp. Definitely voting him out.

thisguy883 1 point ago +1 / -0

THIS WAS THE PROBLEM!!!!

We had a chance to vote his ass out this election, but no one and I mean NO ONE who is MAGA stepped up to go against this piece of human garbage.

So unfortunately it was either him, or some slimy fucking Democrat who would have 100% voted against everything the POTUS wants and would have backed Biden.

I was one of the loudest voices on here against Cornyn because I know how much of a shit stain he is.

The sanctity of our elections just was tainted by partisan politics. So is he saying we should fight tooth and nail to ensure only legal votes were counted? He should be saying this but it does not sound like he is.

Milk toast waste of a Texas Senatorial seat.

A Bush family crony, he's almost as bad as a democrat. Maybe even worse.

Might be time to recall him.
