No, this was some weird FF that fell through. It was definitely getting seeded out there, but then the solar storm that was supposedly going to cause this event petered out.

The premise of this is extremely unlikely to occur. Supposedly a super-massive solar storm would kick up so much space debris that the sun would be partially obscured. It just doesn't work that way.
