Just find me one shred of evidence that that building was ever a school to begin with. Surely there should be year books, news articles of events, invoices from cafeteria orders, all kinds of other students, etc.

You can find evidence it was a school, but it stops a few years before the incident. No online presence at all, not even in wayback machine.
Someone else pointed out the satellite images the parking didn't meet current standards for handicap requirements.
Lots of stuff to give the indication it had been closed for a few years.
But.... if it was closed, you'd think some neighbor would have come forward by now. The school I went to kindergarten in was an extra elementary and the district closed it the next year. It was rented out and used for other things and not hard to find that it was not in use as a school. There also aught to be public record that they shut it down - unless they cleaned that up and the only proof would be like in old newspaper copies.
This wasn't my red pill moment Terri schiavo was my moment. However this was the moment I realized how fucking pathetic and low our govt would go to get something. There are no photos of the inside the school "after" no one was allowed inside and they even made them tear it down with out entering. <That's what got me. Demo crews couldn't enter? Wtf. Real environmentaly friendly..
Also numerous reports about police on scene when the call was made.. like what in the actual fuck.
