I'm not young myself BUT I have noticed that people who retain "purpose" in life actually thrive and live longer. People who have no plan for retirement and just "putter" around seem to slip into Alzheimer's and cash in their chips much earlier. I've seen it time and again.
Rudy G. doesn't strike me as the type who wants to ramble around his garden planting morning glories. He'd go stark raving mad in a week. That's someone who thrives where the action is -- offer him the job again with a few reliable assistants to carry out the busy work and he will be content to carry on.

The AG's job is very bureaucratic; like saying the difference between a Ships Captian or Fleet Admiral vs Sec of the Navy.
There are structural problems with how the DOJ is organized. This like so many things, similar to Election Integrity, which have been intentionally put in via legislation & case law, to weaken/breakdown the system over decades. eg The Patriot Act.

Also, most people don't realize, the US Attys offices basically can't do anything without cases from the FBI. So it takes Making the FBI Great Again, to get much movement for the US Attys to be able to do their jobs.
So long as the spy aspects and yuuge (any) foreign office footprint exists within the FIB, it wont focus on doing it's core functions of dealing with things like corruption of election officials; and hence not refer these cases to the US Attorneys Office; and it lets foreign spies/deepstate play games with the domestic investigations. eg Pee-Pee Dossier, FISA applications, Laptop from Hell, Dominion, etc.

Too big of a conflict of interest. He has been Trump's personal attorney for too long to be attorney general under a Trump administration. Tom Fitton or Sidney Powell on the other hand are free of such conflict of interest restraints.
Hopefully Rudy can recommend someone that is not tainted by the swamp.
If Rudy can suggest an AG (someone he knows well) and vouch for their character, I think that will be enough.
