Meh. Don't be. I've been bemoaning this since 2016: We are Americans and Americans want to live, work, thrive, and be free. We find "politics" generally repulsive.

The left is constantly trying to undermine our system of liberty at every turn. Professional politicians vs. the original intent where government officials had their "profession" which they took time away from to govern. This is why Republicans have always seemed to be on the defensive.

It's sad because now I fear I need to re-enter politics where I had other aims. Many I hope and fear realize the same.

Fixing the flaws inherent in politics with politics is futile. Politics is the box we need to step outside of. It's also Sauron's ring. We (as a species) need to step outside of it or lock it away or shrink it or destroy it. Otherwise, it will consume us.

Thinking we can tame politics is like thinking we can "possess the Ring" and do good with it. It will always consume us in the end. It wasn't called the Ring of Power for no reason.

The founders knew this. So, they did the best they could to protect us from ourselves.

There are no political solutions to this meta problem of politics.
