Now I think our constitution should read that Marriage is between a man and woman of consenting age (at least 21 across the board) and no immediate family ties (At least 3 cousins or more). A biological male can only ever be a biological male/same with female. You can't just switch your gender at will to skirt the system. Also, if two people of the same sex wish to be married, they can join a "civil union" which will allow them the same rights within hospitals, but they will not be recognized at a tax level as being married and each must file separate.
For most things this is the obvious solution, for example all things biological. However I dont agree with most of the adoption takes on here. While its true there is no substitute for a loving, mother/father/child family unit, I dont believe same sex adotption is evil. If it means saving a child from abortion, an orphanage, or some other awful situation, it would be evil to sacrifice the kid to fulfill an ideal.
I look at it this way: I wouldnt give up a child for adoption. I also dont believe I would adopt. Those are MY choices. I am not religious, but respect that others may be and theor principals may be different than my own. Live and let live.
