They felt it has no standing, not based on the MERITS but based, rather, on who brought forth the case. This is very common in litigation. They simply feel that Trump should be the one bringing the case to them. Yet they also feel that he cannot simply jump over all of the lower courts. He HAS to go through the lower courts (get his casses dismissed and appealed until it reaches the SCOTUS).
