I am convinced the reason the TSA was established after 9/11 and started (digitally) strip searching people, making air travel even more unpleasant, was for the same reason: to try to corral all communications into the digital space, where it is recorded, tracked, meta-info tracked, and analyzed. Face to face communications has been made harder, starting back then, and now, where they outright tell us not to dare gather.
