As far as churches go, another reason is that worshipers place there god/gods above there government. They don't like the competition so it must be crushed. I think it's time for another crusades. As for places of gathering, our connections to each other is also a problem, the same with families. They require 100% obedience and control. But if no one is willing to get physical no amount of "protesting' will matter. Why bend to a mob of people who only wine and wave flags. They have no incentive to listen, unless force is used.

It's like dealing with a bully. I found my bully problems went away after I started to publicly spar with my father in the the schools gym. My father was a massive wall of muscle at the time. I myself was much smaller. But after they saw me face up to him, I was never bothered again.
