Fair question. Long story. My whole life I struggled with addiction. 4 years ago I made lifestyle changes and have been sober since. Financially I had ruined myself to the point of being homeless and broke. I was living in Seattle at the time. Had family in SF so they helped me make changes and get away from seattle. Getting back on your feet after a lifetime of addiction takes time. It wasn't my choice to come to SF, I just ended up here. At the time I had no other options. Now that I'm seeing thing more clearly these days I plan to escape when I'm financially able. When I was using I was one of the sheep. I didn't care about politics and looking back I can say I definitely had more liberal views. Since I got sober my views on things have completely changed. I had one guy tell me I should have my gay card revoked for supporting Trump. Needless to say I don't feel a part of the gay community at all. Never really have honestly. I don't think Desmond is amazing, I think its child abuse. I don't get the whole drag culture. I certainly don't think drag queens should be reading books to kids. I never understood the whole pride parade thing either. The whole, look at me, I'm in your face and I'm gay and if you don't like it your a racisthomophobebigot etc.. Sorry for the rant but sometimes you gotta vent. :-) MAGA Trump 2020!

Glad you're doing better as well. And good luck to you since you're deep behind enemy lines. Haha I read that SF is 90% liberal and despite the craptastic job they've done over the past 20 yrs, SFers consistently vote for Team Blue, with each election cycle containing more extremists and social misfits than the last. That's devotion.
