Twitter uses the word "disputed" instead of "debunked" because disputed is meaningless, and can’t be used in a libel case. Yet, to the masses, they see it as synonymous with "debunked."
I can "dispute" your existence and credibility, asserting that you might be a bot or a figment of my imagination, doesn't mean I've conclusively disproved you wrote the post above and proven you to have never existed.

Whilst it is in fact a fact by the very definition of what has been considered a fact for thousands of years, it is not considered a fact by the many reputable "fact check" services that exist and have sprung up over the last four years; impartial fact checkers that have no interest or personal stakes in what is being disputed.
