Depending on their loyalties it may not be 'fall for', but 'fall back on'. If the media provides cover for them then they have no reason not to. But if they do that then they have thousands of patriots for constituents and who knows when tarring and feathering might make a comeback

This committee doesn't really care, this is all a show, ... the Legislator in MI is blind, and they like it that way. We here in MI try to elect new officials all the time, but as soon as they meet with these other officials they are indoctrinated into this blind club and taught to just collect a paycheck.

Dominion is credibly accused of fraud, error and the fucking RINO cucks believe the company. Calling all pedes in MI, WI, PA, AZ, NM, GA, we cannot let up in these swing states. 24
sordfysh 24 points ago +25 / -1

He really needs to double check because he said that it's impossible to enable RCV on those systems. Real easy to verify that claim.

My guess is that he doesn't know that it's able to be enabled. He doesn't even know the programming language. Software like this usually has all bells and whistles available but they are just disabled. Usually contractors can come in and secretly enable the bells and whistles for the client.

I think he's making a lot of claims that will put him in big trouble. He's probably getting on a plane tonight to Argentina.

7
Jemmy 7 points ago +7 / -0

I thought he was dancing around it, saying MI doesn't have ranked choice voting.

And then when talking about it if it were enabled, only referred to the happy path of using it with a RCV ballot.

7
sordfysh 7 points ago +7 / -0

He might have been dancing around it. He said that RCV could not have been used because the ballots were not RCV. Maybe he meant that it's unlikely that RCV was used if the ballots didn't have RCV on it.

He doesn't seem to know a lot about the capabilities of the software. He is having a hard time speaking about connectivity to the internet. It sounds like he's stupid, but I imagine he's just using scripted lines, and he's trying to reconcile the lies with the technical information.

10
sordfysh 10 points ago +10 / -0

Again, really easy to just turn on remote adjudication if it's available on other systems. They don't erase unlicensed products from the machines, they just disable them. If they "forgot" to disable those products, then they will be available for use. And they can blame the low level employees for the "mistake".

A lot of the what the Dominion representative is saying is the same as what I've said as a specialist in systems like this.

If you do things properly it's pretty hard to cheat with the machines because you can always compare to the paper ballots. There are basically techniques where you do not have to do so exhaustively.

Personally I'm sceptical of Dominion as a large direct cause of fraud in miscounting but there are enormous caveats.

He's saying it should be easy to check. Absolutely. But all of that is theory. Have all materials actually been preserved securely and have all results been tested in this way? The answer to that is no. Otherwise that evidence would have been presented in defence of suits long ago.

I can tell you if I had a Dominion insider and I asked them how to cheat they would say don't do it the way people are suggesting it might be most easily done or it will be detected.

In that case either you do it a different way or you ask how it would be detected then target that. You may simply hope to delay detection enough for it to be deemed too late.

Dominion isn't an attack vector in the way people think it is. Just the insider knowledge or access can be pretty dangerous and that is one of many possible attack vectors.

Their representative is making some bold statements that he cannot know. Overly defensive of the product and that it's never to blame or involved. Even if he knows nothing of foul play from his end it's certainly possible for operators to abuse the machines. For him to state that this has never happened is not something we can actually know and investigations suggest that it has happened.

The whole pipeline needs to be investigated but the Dominion representative dropped the hint himself. The best place for fraud is upstream.

5
Postal 5 points ago +5 / -0

It was certainly a tool to cheat, but I think too many hands were using the tool and it got too sloppy, which is how it got detected. I think you are correct in the clock running out for discovering it, but I think there is enough found (thanks to the sloppiness) that there is time.
I cannot listen to him because I'm exhausted from all the BS. Thanks for the run down.

2
muslimporn 2 points ago +2 / -0 (edited)

I have no doubt that actors will have cheated all over the place in many ways. Regardless of what I think the odds are of what it's irrelevant, you run the match and see what the result is. The argument that they would have avoided cheating that way because it's easily detectable isn't sufficient excuse to then not try to detect it, after all it's easy right? If it turns out not to be easy then you have a big problem.

The Dominion thing is a bit of a distraction from areas of fraud where it was more likely but is inherently harder to detect. As well as other activities that basically amount to the same damage as fraud even if you might term them or describe their mechanism differently.

A lot of the fraud is likely to be ineligible voting and unequal protection (illegals, multiple voting, stealing identities, under age, sending out ballots to everyone, making it easier for one type of voter, disappearing ballots, etc).

For stuff harder to detect like that requires a more extensive audit and in passing you'll pick up what's easy to detect or when it's hard to detect for example due to missing hard copies.

There are more extensive means of fraud possible with Dominion if there is extensive systems integration. That means for example if they can back fill, hard copies for example, voter registration database, etc. Usually that would involve not only Dominion.

To rule that out you would need a forensics team with people like me going in to actually look at it. There's only so much you can gleam from speculation. If the Dominion representative believes they can wash their hands clean of any responsibility and have nothing to worry about then they should welcome this.

1
InRevelation12now 1 point ago +2 / -1

Dominion hardware and software is built from the ground up to facilitate election tampering. Why does it have an algorithm, the weighted election feature built into the software? Why is it so easy to delete votes? Why is it so easily to make changes with a damn USB? Why was there significant effort in the software to hide changes to vote totals? Every one of these features is included in order to facilitate cheating. These were selling points to the crooked politicians who decided to buy DVS in the first place. There's a reason Texas refused DVS 3 TIMES - crappy security, crappy software.

The freaking company name is FLAUNTING it in our faces. Dominion. These low life politicians used our tax $$ to buy voting equipment that is garbage and they chose it to perpetuate their control over us. It facilitated election fraud on a scale that is historic. 68% error rate with no history of how those ballots were adjudicated?

These machines should be confiscated from around the country and smashed to bits. Back to hand counting with observers at every step of the way until we can agree on some alternative that is bulletproof against fraud.

This testifying in Congress means nothing to me. It's just theater.

1
muslimporn 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've built systems like Dominion before, self service machines and betting machines. It's really easy to cheat but hard to do so undetectable.

If the handling of the ballots is set up right and the election run properly it wont matter how insecure the machines are.

They are already in trouble as from what I've seen Dominion fails on a lot of standards which in itself is a scandal. It's not easy to understand why when you seen how strongly for example their CEO comes to the defence of the product. Their quality control process heavily relies on marketing alone.

The notion that they don't get involved in how people run their elections might work in corrupt countries but they do not seem to understand what it means to operate in a country that actually intends to properly conduct elections. This is a common failure in business. To assume if something works once then stick to that across all markets.

When it comes down to it all that matters is the science. Not the speculators. They should be welcoming and even demanding a full audit themselves. In fact what they are talking about, comparing to a hand count should happen every time as a matter of procedure and we should already have full evidence of this available. No system is perfect, it's impossible, you must always verify it as standard.

It is theatre or just theory. There's no good the CEO rattling on about all the science that's possible yet nothing is being done to do all the science possible.

2
DonnieT 2 points ago +2 / -0

What I’m curious about is whether the machines have the ability to change the vote mark on the scanned ballot image during adjudication. Seems like they can but I don’t have confirmation.

1
InRevelation12now 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's a good question. I recently watched a vid where they were demonstrating the adjudication process, but they didn't really address whether or not the image file was altered. What they did demonstrate is that not only can the adjudicator fix the 'mistake', they can also change every other thing on the ballot to whatever they want. The changes should get recorded - audit trail - but we have deleted audit trails, don't we?

1
DonnieT 1 point ago +1 / -0

Also, on that note I have been mulling over for a couple weeks what actually happened during the georgia “hand count”. Were the scanned images considered the physical ballots? What happened to the original physical ballots of those that had “errors” and were adjudicated? If they were replaced with images that could have been altered, I think we have our source of the dominion related fraud. I don’t see hardly anyone talking about these questions.

1
InRevelation12now 1 point ago +1 / -0

We need robust systems that have election security as part of the design basis, not built in options to cheat. Take a look at PCI DSS protocols that were developed for cc transactions and bank transactions over the web. Not everything in PCI DSS applies to election system security, but it's a start.

1
muslimporn 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's where you need a detailed analysis. If you're not careful in the wrong hands all the processes for flagging anything wrong or fixing things can be used as quality control to make sure they cheat effectively as well as identifying for them first what didn't go through so to dispose of it.

1
InRevelation12now 1 point ago +1 / -0

I agree that no system is perfect. Even hand counting with observers at every step of the way cheating can still occur. It's the human factor. But I'm not talking about the human factor. I'm talking about the manufacturer's DVS equipment being designed to facilitate election fraud.

Consider these two features:

  1. Weighted election option is built-in. All DVS infrastructure has it.
  2. Dominion software manipulates the audit trail to hide evidence of vote manipulations.

The excuse that Dominion gives for the weighted election feature being on their machines is 'it's there for our condominium customers'. That's total BS and really pisses me off. The value of just one state buying DVS is on the order of a 100 million dollars times multiple states. The software could absolutely be customized to remove weighted election feature - and it should have - no excuse. Whatever sales person said that should be bitch-slapped.

Here's another reason I don't buy the 'it's in there for our condo customers' excuse. Here in Massachusetts, the DVS machines have the feature of recording ballot images disabled in the software. DVS did that per this state's request even though it is possibly a violation of federal election law for record retention. So, DVS absolutely CAN make a change to software to make a sale, but yet they don't remove the weighted election option in the product line sold to state governments? IMO, that is an untenable position.

The existence of #2 has no possible justification. It's sole purpose for existence is to hide the fact that cheating occurred. In the last 2 weeks, 2 different sources I looked at say Dominion software does this.

1
muslimporn 1 point ago +1 / -0

From a software engineering background including systems like this, in practice, not theory, I'm not particularly alarmed by that feature in and of itself. In terms of software it's infinitely compromised by the software engineers alone and I'm not sure you may understand what's possible. It's possible to weight votes how you like without an obvious feature like this.

However shipping builds with features like that available to an operator on the front end in a crucial race is something they should have really addressed long ago. The impression I get is that the software is cluttered with inappropriate feature creep that ends up in the hands of the end user when it's something they absolutely do not need nor should have.

I would personally ship the feature and then have it as a honeypot but I'm just evil like that. You click the button, the machine goes mental, alarms good off, it starts waving it's servos, jams up and screaming that it's being molested to anyone in the proximity like one of those car alarms printing out and flashing to call the company.

That's most likely money laundering if true. Happens all the time. That's way over priced. Procurement scam. If they're paying so much more than necessary it's automatically not even suspect. You know they're embezzling.

There are much worse ways they can weight votes in secret which is inherent to a software solution.

There are a lot of things wrong with Dominion on multiple levels which make it a bad choice but what we need to do is search for real definitive problems.

2
InRevelation12now 2 points ago +2 / -0

I disagree. Pedigree traces back to Venezuela. Designed to steal elections, not for honest elections. Front for SmartMatic. You're not changing my mind, so EOS.

1
muslimporn 1 point ago +1 / -0 (edited)

They're heavily tied to corrupt nations operating both in delivering services and in sourcing services themselves. The impression I get is that they have a policy of turning a blind eye because that can get you in trouble in providing services in these kinds of countries.

If you're going to say designed to steal elections it doesn't really mean anything beyond personal opinion if you can't explain how. I take the approach of what might be sufficient to actually press charges. That requires looking into things much more deeply.

It looks like me that their entire business culture is designed to relinquish culpability but outside of that they don't care. If you snoop around into things or put your nose where it doesn't belong in the countries they operate it gets cut off. They almost say as much explicitly. I suspect you'll find their system is designed in such a way to offload blame and that's the limit.

What's you're looking for is not likely entirely all design. It's an evolution from a system of perpetual neglect.

Their customers are often questionable states. Their motto is we don't care how you run your elections. You're basically paying for someone to help provide election systems who didn't see nothing in the event of foul play.

It’s a fucking adding machine. You can count votes with an 🧮 abacus. Why in the hell would any state pay $100M for this POS software? Must be all those “features” that you would only need if your preferred candidate was way behind on election night.

MNMathtic 35 points ago +35 / -0

When asked about whether ranked choice voting could be turned on, he said No.

When asked why not, technically, he said "Look at the paper ballots. RCV was not used and cannot be used."

That's not an answer.

15
wizdom 15 points ago +15 / -0

Like much of the bullshit he's spewed. As a software engineer I can tell you 50% of his statements are complete lies.

3
GainesvilleFlorida 3 points ago +3 / -0

But it doesn’t help with these poorly worded questions either, with senators saying 5 different things in one question.

9
sully 9 points ago +9 / -0

Most people do non-answers. Zuckerborg is an expert at it.

They could be asked a question and say something along the lines of "Well, policy says that we..." or "Proper procedure requires that we..."

They're never direct answers because they're too afraid to plead the fifth because saying that alone makes someone untrustworthy.

4
RealStickFigure 4 points ago +4 / -0

Spot on. Why no follow up?

1
day221 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ranked choice? I thought the issue was the weighted race feature. I don't see what ranked choice has to do with anything.

1
day221 1 point ago +1 / -0

Nevermind, I see it might be a subset of that feature. If that's the case then the guy outright lied. Nothing stops someone from turning it on. In fact they should have asked him that. The paper ballots thing makes no sense, that has nothing to do with it unless it is hardcoded in a barcode or something, which I doubt it is.

1
MNMathtic 1 point ago +1 / -0

People have said that this was the mechanism where the weighted algorithm was introduced into the system.

35

5

Right. All they need is a bar or qr code to stop that. Basically it is a very exploitable system that overlooks major attack vectors in the name of 'the workers should be 100% honest' which is never true and why you would want a 'secure' system in the first place. Basically admitting that his product fills no need.

2
tremendous_trump2020 2 points ago +2 / -0

The workers were seen covering the bar codes with stickers or white tape in order to keep scanning them.

4

Earlier, the guy claimed that he didn't know if any Dominion employees were in MI and had no information about any of that.

Now he knows that "two employees and a 1 day contractor" were there and even knows Melissa's name and that she testified.

Oddly specific information for someone who has no information.

Yeah, they clearly rehearsed the "one day contractor" line to rebut Melissa.

23
cucumbersandwich 23 points ago +23 / -0

From what I'm hearing, and all that is needed to be heard from the opening statement, is that they are going to blame election officials for any chicanery. They are off the hook. May as well stop watching unless they fuck up. The chairman of the senate panel doesn't seem like a seasoned lawyer so I don't think this will net anything of interest. He doesn't seem like he'll trick them into giving anything away. Opening statement says it all.

The only thing I can see nailing Dominion is:

  • if it can be proven that their employees attached the machines to the internet and if there were connection into the machines.

  • if their employees uploaded new code to the machines

3
twodumb2live 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think Lucido's aim is not to nail Dominion, exactly, but to nail SOS Benson. And to that end, I think he did a good job.

2
MAGAlikethis 2 points ago +2 / -0

Employees can adjudicate ballots any which way they want. This needs to be confirmed with the CEO.

1
cucumbersandwich 1 point ago +1 / -0

Employees or election officials working at the polling locations? Big difference.

1
MAGAlikethis 1 point ago +1 / -0

We already know election officials can. I just want the CEO to confirm that.

2
Timecop1776 2 points ago +2 / -0

Straight from their website it says that the dominion voting machines allow you count votes however you want, you program the parameters as an election worker and it uses those parameters

1
Pepe1776_ 1 point ago +1 / -0

That doesn't help them so much, because if officials can alter it that easily then the software shouldn't be used anywhere in the country. Or any evoting for that matter.

1
88ii 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah. If nothing is attached to the internet until the voting is over, how does media keep those constantly updated results tickers running on TV? And if vote counts come from the county, not the precinct, how does the county get vote count updates if not via the internet?

1
ShyRipley 1 point ago +1 / -0

Adding

if their employees assisted in printing more ballots i.e. I believe that is what Mellissa alluded to with the "Chicago Warehouse" situation

"Proportional Representation"

PR is where candidates total votes are given a percentage based on their position in the race, rather than the number of individual votes. Leftists say Proportional Representation is 'more fair' to 'minority' political parties.

In Canada, lefty BC (Washington State North) had a Referendum on Voting in 2018. The Referendum was whether to change their voting system from most-votes to proportional-representation.

BC voted NO WAY to proportional representation in 2018. Unable to use Proportional Representation, the NDP took minority power by creating a coalition with the Green Party to 'beat out' the centrist party.

In 2019, the BC Election Commissioner Anton Boegman approved mail-in ballots and pushed for Dominion Voting Systems to oversee the election (DominionVS clearly explains their DVS proportional-tabulating option in their manuals).

In 2020, the far-left NDP 'won the most votes ever given to a candidate'.

Boegman, a Canadian, is Treasurer of the US COGEL group - Council on Government Ethics Legislation which is a proud 'progressive watchdog' lobbying for more-fair voting. It's members hold Ethics or Election positions across North America, Europe and Australia.

1
GainesvilleFlorida 1 point ago +1 / -0

Let me help with that:

  1. our software doesn’t allow fractions you’ll have to take that up with specific election officials
  2. we just develop the software and are not present to see how the physical ballots are administrated.

These weak #^*! Questions that are not strategically worded are why this hearing had been a joke. We’ve got boomers here asking stupid tech questions hoping someone training the last 4 weeks to divert all answers is going to stumble and spill some beans. You need Ted Cruz questions here not these stupid questions easily refuted.

1
Lord_Moo 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why design hardware/software for ballot scanning that can even handle a data type beyond an integer?

Need to add? 1->2->3 etc.

Flag a ballot? 0 No 1 YES

Make a mistake? 3->2->1

In what world does a software engineer design a datatype that has no intended use in a glorified adding machine. Answer, he's doing more than just adding.

These politicians can easily nail this guy dead to rights if he they had the capacity to ask the right questions. Why there is no tech liaison for politicians/courts/boomer professions in serious need of technological help is beyond me. They aren't just stupid on their own right, they represent our communities, and we aren't this technologically illiterate.

So many ways to safeguard data but these guys aren't even thinking about that, they're still trying to remember their password on their phones and always saying "I hate this phone! It never does what I want it to do." They're appealing to their blind side and they are too arrogant as politicians to ever admit it.
