I believe what they're doing is exploiting confusion around what "connected to the internet" means. Probably they just have some software firewall or policy setting or something that supposedly keeps things "off the internet" except for the central tabulator that reports out to SCYTL, Edison, media, etc.
If they’re not connected to the outside world how the fuck do they report to Clarity then?
