We have a circular circle jerk going in.....the government does not know what the government is doing. This three letter agency shit has the entire fucking country upside down.....I agree with the sentiment "burn it all to the fucking ground".
Solarwinds Orion is something that probably 90% of mid to large size IT departments use across government, private sector, everywhere.
If you work somewhere with 50 or more people and an IT department, chances are you use solarwinds.
Source: I'm an IT sysadmin with 15 years experience. Almost every single place I've worked has used solarwinds.
It looks like there was malware snuck into a patch back in 2019 that allowed unauthorized access. I am very happy that I procrastinated updating my solarwinds server this year!
To explain what Orion is, it's basically a server that you put on your network, and you add every other server/network switch or any other piece of hardware you want to monitor as a "node." Then it give you a nice dashboard to go and look at your whole network and make sure everything is up, if something goes down you can monitor for how long it was down, and send alerts to the right people to fix it, etc. There are many more plugins and things you can do with it, but it's basically a network monitoring tool with a dashboard to look at the overall status of your network.
I use this tool every single day of my life for 10+ years.
Wasn't it on the Vault 7 list as a hardware environment for testing the hacking tools? Which would make sense if the hacking tools could expect to be deployed against servers using it.
I mean... this is like saying Ford is a hacking tool because the CIA use them for transportation between locations, or Linux is a hacking tool with a URL to the kernel source code.
SolarWinds is a widespread company (thus why the CISA declaration).
The interesting part is if the breach (injected bad code) is directly related to everything going on (deep state/ Chyna takeover).
The plot is certainly getting thicker!
You can't spell CIA without CHINA.
The H is for Harambe
The N is for Nations
(Just things they killed)
Woof! Good find
NICE!
Central Harambe Intelligence Nations Agency. has a nice ring to it!
It really does

Yeah, it's fascinating how they were never supposed to do anything in the US, and yet...
This. My company has used solarwinds products in the past for network monitoring. It was really good, just expensive.
I mean a lot of network management tools could be described as "hacking tools", it's just a matter of how they are used.
Yeah. You know, like stealing an election.

Mr. Binney will have loads of accurate data on this!
If the governmemt hackers lost exploitation tools that hurt our country, they should be prosecuted to the max

interesting
its a "solarwinds.com" product not a hacking tool...
If the CIA uses solarwinds orion, then the hackers could have lots of declass.
