It's because the technical part of 'counting votes' isn't important at all to their profitability (and relatively trivial to implement --coming from a guy who does the code). The part that mattered for them was how to bribe people, how to get relationships with people in government, how to help them cheat, etc.

It's becoming more plainly obvious every day that this is who these people are.

should have been more clear. I meant I do "the code" as a way of saying that coding is part of my work. don't work for any such corrupt POS company, but can testify that implementing a proper counting system would be far simpler and cheaper than the fraud enabling garbage they peddled to all those corrupt state officials.
