I don’t think it’s possible to project what would have happened if the north had let the south walk away.
It’s possible that would have happened, but it’s also possible that the country of Texas would be the world superpower now, and the northern states formerly known as the USA would just be Canada’s retarded stepbrother.
My only point in this, and I won’t hold it against you if you disagree, is that once we crossed the point of voluntary association into compulsory servitude, we lost the ability to walk away later if we came to an impasse again (much like we are at today with the leftists). Now a peaceful outcome is not possible.
Why would Texas go back to being its own country? Wouldn't it have remained part of the Confederacy? Texas never really wanted to be its own country. At least not back when it actually was.
