Hate to be a buzzkill, but 'man of the year' is for influential people. Doesn't mean good or bad necessarily. Trump was also man of the year.

Stalin got it TWICE -- in 1939 and 1942. Because you can't let Hitler with a death total of 6m beat out the guy with 30m.
