I have always believed that RINOs and never trumpers were really “placeholders” for the Democrats. Label yourself as a GOP but hold the line for democrat votes/policies. That makes people on the right feel that they have representatives on the right, but people who never uphold conservative values. I remember seeing the conservative review website who graded GOP members of Congress as to how they voted conservative.
