I have both Proton mail and when I started using the Vivaldi Snapshot browser, i got their Vivaldi Mail as well. This is far superior to all other email system (other than Proton). But be careful with Proton.. you can NEVER forget your password. They are so secure, an account is just not recoverable.
Because Gmail is sending a permanent failure, our mail servers will not automatically retry sending these messages (this is standard practice at all email services for handling permanent failures).
We are closely monitoring the situation. At this time, little can be done until Google fixes the problem. We recommend attempting to resend the messages to Gmail users when Google has fixed the problem. You can find the latest status from Google's status page:

Ooo just got a proton notification of an incoming email from a gmail account.
Short lived crash? Sounds more like a shock test as we go.
I got a note from my linkedin account that they couldn't send to my gmail
Yeah but they said they wouldn’t do it until June or July if 2021.
