I’ve heard this is an option and if so it’s likely the very last thing that will happen. So Trump would use his EO and invoke the insurrection act and then use martial law, something like that? I assume marital law would be because people would likely take to the streets and protest (liberals) causing chaos. How would it all play out?

Agreed. It would have to be very limited in scope, otherwise all the gungrabbing rhetoric ceases to be rhetorical and becomes fact.
