This is the top comment at the moment, so adding my piece on here by expanding on this point. For all of you who are freaking out because "BUT BUT BUT IT CAME FROM HIS WEBSITE!", here's some truth:
The website "Donald J Trump for President" (the company sending these emails) is not Trump. It is a separate election committee sponsored and owned by WinRed, a third party service endorsed by the RNC. Nothing more. That's why they've gotten their dick slapped down in court because the couple of lawsuits they filed aren't acting on behalf of Trump.
Even if Trump owns the DonaldJTrump.com website and has final say over it (spoiler alert: he doesn't), then email sent from a subdomain means jack shit. I could make a subdomain of BigMeatyCocksOoohHarderDaddy.DonaldJTrump.com and as long as their DNS host points an A record to my server's IP, it looks like my traffic is coming from DonaldJTrump.com. That's what literally almost every business does. You ever use an online checkout page? Same thing.
If you're freaking out about this email, it means you're on this mailing list. Have you seen any of the other stuff they send out? Every other day it's "PRESIDENT TRUMP HAS CHOSEN YOU PERSONALLY!" or "TRUMP ASKED FOR YOUR OPINION ONLY" or "YOUR NAME IS AT THE TOP OF THE LIST" or whatever the hell. And if you believe those emails, then I don't know what to say to you. It's all a mountain of advertising bullshit. Nothing to do with Trump.

You can't make a subdomain without being the owner of the primary domain. For instance, you couldn't create antitrump.thedonald.win without already owning thedonald.win.
Yep. You need to have access to the DNS of the root domain. You could be the domain owner, the domain owner could have delegated nameservers to another DNS host, whatever. All comes back to the point that DonaldJTrump.com isn't controlled by Trump. Even if it was, they would have just had that subdomain pointed to another service. There's a shop.donaldjtrump.com, an events.donaldjtrump.com, mailer.donaldjtrump.com...all pointing to different services and for different uses.
Yeah the “personalized” messages and texts can be annoying af. Its pretty obvious it’s not coming from POTUS or his family (sometimes they’re marked Trump Jr., etc.) I can see an older/non-tech savvy type falling for it though.
