First there was Ron Paul. The principled Spartacus in the land of the compromised. It earned him many fans, but few allies.
Then there was Rand Paul. Similar ideals, but he seemed ready and able to play ball. Knowing when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em could be a valuable skill, and Rand always took a stand when the time was right. The GOP needed a change of approach like that.
Then Trump barges in and flips the table. But in doing so, he shows conservatives the light. He shows them how to fight, and how to win.
Now Rand has been absorbing the lessons of Trump. Now he knows, with deadly seriousness, how far the left is willing to debase themselves, and how to truly fight back.
There's potential for Rand Paul to emerge reforged into the hero we need.
If the Trump administration allows the GOP to allow Biden into office I'm not sure. We need him so we can reset the table and unlatch FANG (Facebook, Amazon, Netflix, Google) and neoliberalism from the DNC. The tactic of threatening Americans with violence if they resist the democrats must to be stomped out. I do not know if we can do that without Donald J. Trump.
I know how to run some ground game for a counter-insurgent political campaign. Bringing weapons into street fights is not my ideal scenario. Having technology companies spy on us to support violent actors suppressing our voices, less ideal. As a strategist, it has been obvious to me for some time that the "everyone but me is a racist that must be physically attacked and economically ruined" memetic was loaded up to fire whether or not we had a Trump admin.
I love the Pauls.

The beard is the first sign.
I've been saying it for ages. We need more beards in Congress.
Well said.

I don't know how to counter message this yet.
