Accused of ending the Republic while trying to save it, stabbed in the back by his backers, but not his loyal soldiers. Crossing the Rubicon to fight a civil war against dissident, former peers (McConnell and... Pelosi. Checks out, actually,) and finally, fights against insurrection sponsored by foreign powers.
My history here is fuzzy, because it’s been a few years since I’ve read Suetonius and Caesar’s writings aren’t all that helpful. However... he tried amnesty for the Gauls, which failed in suppressing them (although worked for the Cis-Alpine Gauls, iirc,) and I think the answer you’re looking for: military tribunals. He drafted a new constitution before crossing the Rubicon and letting the dice be cast and so on, but I don’t exactly see President Trump re-drafting our constitution.
No. Our Constitution has been seen as an impediment to people who are grasping for power and has been seen as that for a long time. Trump, Reagan, Lincoln, maybe JFK appreciated the beauty and promise it brought to each American. All Trump did was follow the Constitution, which has threatened the power of so many. What do we do to take our power back?
Well, there are arguments to be made that Caeser REALLY wanted to be king. Like the whole ‘crown’ stunt could be seen as him gauging the reaction of the crowd, his planned parthian campaign could be seen as him trying to fulfil a prophecy that only a king can destroy parthia (or something like that).
For these reasons, I prefer to think of Trump like Sulla. Great man, patriot, wars with the senate and wins, becomes dictator, fixes a load of stuff, peacefully retires after his work is done, spends the rest of his life with his greek twink sex slave. And also his wife.
Trump probably won’t do the ‘greek twink sex slave’ part.
Trump is Caesar, actually. Holy shit.

Remember what Caesar attempted to defend himself with?

The answer was "a stylus", a writing instrument.
Or perhaps...... a twitter account.
Beautiful - I was looking too broadly, and you’re damn right.
I don’t think President Trump wants to re-draft The Constitution. I think he wants to reaffirm it! Semper Fi. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I don't. Care to educate me?
Caesar was a great leader and politician.
Until he won the Great Roman Civil War and let the power go to his head. He was assassinated a year after he won the civil war.
This guy histories.
