Bing used to be decent for conservative results. Now they seem to be google-level censored. Yandex isn't much better and even in the English setting every other result is Russian. Duckduckgo sucks at returning results relevant to my search terms, especially when attempting to use quotation marks.
Any suggestions? Zero privacy required, just a strong algorithm and a lack of big tech censorship.

For such a privacy-oriented company, it's concerning to me that they're the "only western search engine available in China" and are "one of the representatives of French innovation in China, with strong links with Chinese startups"--as they say in there. Think it's a pass for me.

I like Yippy.com You can no longer trust duck duck go. Yandex is compromised too. Yippy seems to give very accurate results with no censoring. It also gives you links to open the link in a new tap. This helps when you are doing lots of deep diving.
Honestly, Google is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of search quality and semantics.
That said, Duck duck go is my default. Any search that is Covid, news, or Trump Related is on DDG.
I do use google if I know DDG will fuck it up. Like where context matters. And if I am doing something private that I don’t want showing up in my neighbor’s advertisements I use start page, which is google search.

Can you link evidence of that? I did some searches and as far as I can see, as of the last week or so, that isn't true. But I'd like to see what you are referring to.

Yeah I did the same. DDG gives garbage results, and all news is far left shit
Start Page gets me there 95% of the time the rest I just use Google if I must (shopping results)
Don't sites like start page just use Google anonymously? I tried it a year or so ago along with several others .. I recall some of them do.
