Maybe Barr isn't the AG to take on this next phase so he stepped down. I'm holding judgement until this plays out more but at face value Barr has been a MASSIVE disappointment...but not as bad as Muh Sessions Keebler Elf.
I saw this in another thread and I hate to use the “IT WAS A STING” explanation, but the more I read into this, the more sense it makes. If Barr had acted before the election to expose Hunter and Joe, then we wouldn’t have caught every one of these bastards in the act. And like OP said, “To make big moves, you need a big reason.”
This makes the most sense. You need the criminals to complete their crimes and in this case embrace the spoils of their crime publicly with great fanfare. Leaves NO wiggle room for them to weasel out later.
I believe Barr needed to do his part and he has. Sealed indictments, everything ready for the ones who will cause the pain. Barr is a thoughtful detail oriented guy. He played his part, including keeping the Hunter thing until after the election. Now it’s time for the round up.

I think Barr could have been an obstruction and a mole. Ineffective publicly but serves a purpose outside Title.
