Everything is pointing toward preparations for Martial Law pursuant to the Dec 18 DNI Report which will likely say that there was foreign interference in our election. Then Trump can activate his prerogative powers under 2018 Exec Order and institute Martial Law for the defense of the nation.
Probably limited martial law will have little to no impact on daily life, but Trump can use military to investigate, seize property and prosecute without due process in civilian courts.
Limited Martial Law is my bet. All signs are pointing in that direction.
I've been through a couple of military coups (I didn't grow up in America) and it wasn't as bad as you'd expect. The army was out patrolling and keeping the peace, there were nightly curfews, apart from that life pretty much went on as normal.
At the time we had problems with a militant group causing violence in the main city and that was put down pretty quickly once martial law was declared.
