I'm not ashamed that King was my 2nd favorite author. He was a great storyteller back in the day. Haven't read any new stuff since, well a long time but the old stuff... then he starts spouting the last 4 years and I'm all :( shhhh don't ruin The Stand for me :(
And then the actors and actresses! Don't get me started... :(
He can spin a good yarn but they often come unravelled by the end. Some are just stupid as hell and should have stayed in the bottom of his desk drawers (like Dreamcatcher, boy does that hook SUCK)
I'm not remembering Dreamcatcher so either never read it or hated it so much I erased it from my brain hahaa. His short stories early on... Don't remember the title but "mmm Ladyfingers" eeeps! And the Richard Bachman works...
I do remember when Dark Tower came out and a guy I had turned on to King started it and kept poking me to read it/them. I said nope, not particularly fond of series. I made a good call on that apparently. M O O N and that spells smart!

His best work ran out at about the turn of the century. Now he writes feminist bullshit.

It's the one with the Shit Weasels and the conflict is resolved with the power of friendship even though it's about space aliens. Stupid and lame.
His greatest sin, however, is the ending to The Dark Tower series, which is really much of an ending at all.
