The sad truth is, most people prefer to be safe, rather than free.

High population density has a degenerative effect on people. People need space and nature around them to remain rational and mentally healthy. I know it because I am deprived of it and I need it...

4

6
CuomoisaMassMurderer 6 points ago +6 / -0

What a silly notion.

First of all, he's 10th generation in the US. Second, you think WWII just wrapped around Switzerland by accident? Learn how they do things; they pretty much define "holding the line."

5
ModernKnight 5 points ago +6 / -1

According to Stephen P. Halbrook, author of a book called "Target Switzerland," the story is as follows: "Shortly before World War I, the German Kaiser was the guest of the Swiss government to observe military maneuvers. The Kaiser asked a Swiss militiaman: 'You are 500,000 and you shoot well, but if we attack with 1,000,000 men what will you do?' The soldier replied: 'We will shoot twice and go home.'"

There's a reason they have been ABLE to remain neutral in so many conflicts. Also, they refused to join the European Union.

Idk, I think there's a way to achieve pop density without sacrificing access to nature. If we want to advocate for larger families we need to be able to build up in a way that makes sense. But not in the way that shithole liberal cities have done. Instead of enacting sweeping legislation around the environment and development we just need to promote people to willingly be good stewards of their communities and nature, which all boils down to strong family values that promote an intrinsic reason to do this instead of making people slaves to the government and requiring them to

It's so sad. Almost everyone I know has this opinion. People nowadays don't understand what it's like to truly lose their freedoms. They'll soon learn their lesson when life isn't back to normal in 12 months, and isn't going to be either.

I hope I'm wrong.

13
Xenovista 13 points ago +13 / -0

I aim to remind every Biden voter that they voted for permeant mask mandates and lockdowns.

7
TuckerCarlsonsTie 7 points ago +7 / -0

Don’t forget to remind them they’re low down dirty snitches and Commies.

7
starman164 7 points ago +7 / -0

I hope you're right about them learning their lesson, because my prediction is that people will be a bit miffed about it for a while, but then just kind of forget about it, only to fall face-first into the next trap.

You know, like the patriot act!

8
DelveDeeper 8 points ago +8 / -0

The lockdowns, mask mandates, social distancing etc are going to become common place for the most mundane viruses. People just don't understand that.

6
starman164 6 points ago +6 / -0

Indeed they don't. And if they finally do learn that, a good chunk will still just bend over and let the government ream them again during the next crisis because they'd rather be "safe" than actually be free to protect themselves from it. Surely this temporary government program/policy won't become permanent! Like the Income Tax! Or the Patriot Act!

Same song, different decade. It'd be funny if us freedom lovers weren't getting dragged into the shit with them...

7
DelveDeeper 7 points ago +7 / -0

The infuriating thing is that people are already safe, and if they take the appropriate precautions will be as safe as possible, but the media has convinced people that when they go out everyone they see likely has the virus and if they so much as look at them they will catch it, when the exact opposite is true. 80% of the population will never even catch the virus, and that's on the low end.

I've had to travel twice to foreign countries for a combined 6 weeks during the last 6 months, and both of those countries had high covid rates and were on quarantine lists for most other countries. I managed to keep myself safe while there, still went out to bars and restaurants, and so far haven't caught the virus. Meanwhile lots of people I know who are begging for more Government interventions, have barely left their houses have caught it.

These people are not able to think for themselves, they need to be told if they are safe or not. It's so mind boggling.

Just keep a bit of distance between anyone you don't know if you're unsure and constantly sanitize your hands if you touch things. I personally don't wear a mask unless it's absolutely necessary such as going on a plane.

5
TuckerCarlsonsTie 5 points ago +5 / -0

It won’t become common place if the small business owner or independent contractor or restauranteur have nothing left to lose and rebel. It sure isn’t going to happen in the Church house for the third Great Awakening, it’s going to happen on Main Street when people literally cannot put food on their table or clothes on their back. The more the plutocrats continue to screw Main Street the more people will realize they have neither safety or security and masks and social distancing won’t mean a damn thing if you don’t have food, water, clothing, and shelter.

6
DelveDeeper 6 points ago +6 / -0

I hope you're right, but I fear you're wrong.

What I've come to realize from both covid and the election fraud is that VERY few people are willing to actually stand up and fight for their rights. People are terrified of being called out by the leftists and MSM that they will just put their head down and tow the line.

4
TuckerCarlsonsTie 4 points ago +4 / -0

I fear I’m wrong too. People have to quit being afraid lest they be enslaved. I’m willing to strain relationships to stand for individual liberty. I lost a great friend because they believed the hair dresser was less important than the doctor. Both people have equal rights to earn a wage to feed their families, both do not deserve to have their opportunity to earn subverted, and both are just as important to the economy. They may have families so they deserve the equal chance to purchase shelter over their heads, food on their tables, and clothes on their back. Who the fuck am I to deny the earning opportunity of an American?

The moment Americans were ready to say some people were more essential than others allowed the mask chicanery to take root, hence the waffling early on over the legitimate science saying masks below a medical or biological hazard grade are ineffective against viruses. Once the wolves saw the sheep gullible, they went all out on masks and distancing. I mean, to show how stupid and ill-informed Americans are, the boxes for any mask says it cannot prevent you from catching COVID or any other virus, so what real good does it do? Mitigate the risk? Christ, if I had a 99% chance of survival from COVID everyday instead of the 50/50 chance I have everyday to wake up alive, I’ll risk no mask every day.

In short, all this means to me “Give me Liberty or give me Death.”

3
DelveDeeper 3 points ago +3 / -0

I agree with absolutely everything you just said. Especially about the hair dresser being unimportant. How a person earns their money is up to them, they are not any less essential because of what they do, they still need to feed their family, put a roof over their heads and pay the bills.

Governments the world over should have focused their limited time and energy protecting the weak and the vulnerable, rather than forcing everyone else to be locked down, ultimately just delaying the inevitable.

2
SecondFlamingo22 2 points ago +2 / -0

I even see that sentiment here sometimes. Like I get these are dire times that call for drastic measures but the amount of liberties I see people advocating to sacrifice to meet an end frightens me almost as much as not doing so. Like if Trump crossed the Rubicon and, in the horrible scenario where he gets couped by someone within his own power structure, we could potentially end up with insurrection act, military tribunals and an actual dictator.

5
hansgruber7 5 points ago +5 / -0

The sad truth is that most people even prefer an obviously false promise of safety over freedom. The dark truth is that most people fear freedom because they know that with it comes responsibility for the outcome of your own life. Most people will pay anything to avoid taking responsibility for their own lives.

4
SecondFlamingo22 4 points ago +4 / -0

I don't want anyone other than me to determine what is essential to me and I don't want others to determine which liberties are essential. Id consider opiates to be a detriment to society as a whole but removing individual liberties for the betterment of society is what commies do.

0
stillbringingitback 0 points ago +1 / -1

I guess we all have a line somewhere. I don’t think there’s any value to heroin in a society. So I’m not too bothered about it being unwelcome.

1
Averon 1 point ago +1 / -0

The problem comes with government determining what is our isn't detrimental to society. If they can ban heroine, they can also ban HCQ.

When they banned alcohol, they had to do it through a constitutional amendment. What had changed since then?

0
stillbringingitback 0 points ago +1 / -1

Sure that’s easy to say but I’ve never seen someone suck dick for HCQ or a bottle of beer. You ever sucked dick for on of those?

1
SecondFlamingo22 1 point ago +1 / -0

O don't get me wrong, I find it very unwelcome and I'm perfectly fine with treating it as such from a social and cultural perspective. I just don't support the federal government determining what substances provide or don't provide value. Opiates do have a useful function as pain management if used and prescribed responsibly but I don't want the federal government to criminalize something that is a danger to an individual, especially to do so subjectively.

I'm fully supportive of localities enacting policies around it or states if they want. And sure, I get that is difficult to implement at that point but such is the nature of liberty.

Also, I mean I don't really support anyone choosing to use opiates recreationally but it's also the principle of it. If the federal government gets to control opiates, then where do we draw the line with what substances they do get to control?

2
brother_red 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not downvoting you, but that's what freedom looks like.

Did you know that every little drug store in the US sold heroin and cocaine over the counter up until the 20s?

Little old ladies would buy it and put it in their coffee.

Opiate addiction was very well known too, but the people understood freedom and responsibility.

You could also buy a machinegun from the Sears catalog until 1934.

ATF should be a convenience store - not an agency.

There seemed to be a pretty dramatic shift in mood here yesterday, I'm not sure why. Because of McConnell? That's just the media demoralizing people. They wouldn't do it if they didn't feel the need to. These are enemy combatants. Propagandists.

Is the mood shift because of a lack of a "win"? We need to deliver that win. All it takes is one spark. Washington's army did not quit at Valley Forge during a horrendous winter following L after L after L. Can we not endure shills, propaganda, and demoralization tactics? Can we not take to the streets?

Who cares about the enemy? Seriously. Honestly. Accept that they are indeed the enemy and always will be. They wish to enslave not just your body for taxation, but especially your mind.

The only power they have is consent of the governed. Do not consent. Do not concede. Do not comply. They are illegitimate, not you - and not America and the Constitution, either. Don't give in.

Fight back.

It’s because it’s becoming clear the legislative leaders have no interest in voting to accept Trump’s electors or otherwise contest a Joe Biden presidency. Add to that it seems more and more that Trump’s plan was for dueling electors. I pray I’m wrong and I know Trump has the stones to do the insurrection act, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Fuck the Indians. Those savages got what they fucking deserved. They slaughtered and raped Americans in the most barbaric ways imaginable, broke virtually every treaty they signed before the feds even had a chance to and now every time someone takes a shit somewhere it's desecrating their "sacred land." Anything "bad" visited upon them was long deserved and they more than earned. Those fucking savages wouldn't even know the slightest hint of their history if it weren't for the "evil" white man brining them any semblance of civilization outside of their fairy tales and stone age tribalism. Even the ones that settled and built somewhere were so busy eating each other and committing human sacrifices they could hardly be bothered to invent the fucking wheel. They aren't indigenous. They aren't even first people. They are Mongolian-Amerians and that's about it.

Fucking God damn BULLSHIT about fucking indians fucking pisses me off. Those fucks weren't even free men. They were almost one and all slaves to their "elders" and it shows today in their reservations. They cling to that collectivist tribal mentality that has dragged them down for 6,000 years just like it has done to any people that have had it engrained in their cultures. So fuck the Indians and the horse they rode in on plus anything about them.

D0NNIE_DARK0 7 points ago +9 / -2

Yeah thanks for saying this. There really is no Indian but different tribes with different cultures and historical trajectories. The Left groups them all together as a tool to bash others but many of these tribes had nothing to do with each other and/or didn’t get along hence their various foreign and domestic alliances that changed over time. Not cool with the broad brush strokes. It’s pretty lazy, not historically accurate, and treats people as a collective vs individuals.

4
Dirkstruan313 4 points ago +6 / -2

Oh, so one outlier defines an entire continent of barbarians and absolves them of their crimes. Not only does it do that, since they're now a "victim group" they're allowed to rewrite history and paint my people as the evil villain while they're the noble savage. Good stuff. 5
CuomoisaMassMurderer 5 points ago +5 / -0

Kind of amazing that they became good with horses. Also, the whole culture of the plains Indian, making teepees and hunting buffalo never existed before European horses were brought over.

Since European diseases mainly came from domesticated animals which didn't exist in the Americas, you have to wonder if horses contributed to the Indian's demise via European diseases.

2
earthtrekker7 2 points ago +3 / -1

i highly recommend Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel. I first read it in my university anthro class, and it put the demise of the natives and european expansion in context. thank god for conservative profs.

1
Isolated_Patriot 1 point ago +1 / -0

They blame "blankets" for spreading the diseases, and what is a common requirement for ridding a horse? It think we can reasonably extrapolate that horses accelerated the spread, as they also allowed a much faster form of travel and therefore trade than they had access to prior.

3
CuomoisaMassMurderer 3 points ago +3 / -0

"They" claim our government deliberately gave Indians blankets contaminated with small pox. Before germ theory was discovered.

Does not check out.

Also, Indians rode bareback. Blankets are a hoax. Except for one time a Jesuit distributed some.

-1
somethinga9230k -1 points ago +2 / -3

"They" claim our government deliberately gave Indians blankets contaminated with small pox. Before germ theory was discovered.

Does not check out.

Why would they need to understand germ theory to know that corpses are associated with disease? The Golden Horde and other armies throughout medieval history (and previously?) lobbed disease-ridden corpses into besieged castles and fortifications in order to worsen the situation of the besieged. And well-poisoners and poisoners are well-known from ancient times as far as I know.

1
CuomoisaMassMurderer 1 point ago +1 / -0

Europeans hurled cows that died of disease over castle walls during siege. Imagine how much easier it would have been to infect something smaller with the disease and hurl that instead.

They didn't.

Same concept. A blanket is not a corpse. Nobody deliberately spread small pox by blanket to Indians. Small pox spread WAY before the alleged events took place.

The notion should never have been in a history book.

-1
somethinga9230k -1 points ago +2 / -3

Imagine how much easier it would have been to infect something smaller with the disease and hurl that instead.

Hmmmmm... I wonder whether a smaller animal would have had the mass or density if you sought to hurl or lob something that small over long distances and heights. Would the wind have caught it or wind resistance slow it down? Though I am not a ballistics or physics expert.

Nobody deliberately spread small pox by blanket to Indians. Small pox spread WAY before the alleged events took place.

I can easily imagine you being full correct about this, though I am not certain. But I am still not convinced about lack of knowledge being the reason for it. Your argument that small pox was very good at spreading by itself seems like a much, much better argument to me, and that might very well be what happened. Small pox was a highly contagious disease as far as I can tell, after all, before small pox was eradicated.

Given what you know about media lies and manipulation by the elite today, do you think that the narrative of the 1600-1700's was accurate and true? Or is it possible that it was all lies to get the common man to kill off an entire people and take the land and resources. I am starting to believe the latter.

3
Dirkstruan313 3 points ago +4 / -1

Lets put it this way, the whole myth that the Cherokee dindonuffin and got their asses marched to the Dakota's because evil whyte man wanted their land is a total lie. Entire colonies of thoudands of settlers were pillaged and burned by "natives." Was their hype and media lies then? As today, so yesterday and tomorrow.

1
Zant 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes there were media lies then. Entire states are currently dying to covid by the millions dont you know, and if trump loses he will go down in history as a Russian actor that peed on Obamas bed and the ignorant masses will make it fact. Think about the control they had with only printed news and no photographs or videos.

The elite blame others for what they do and they are accusing a bunch of tribal bow-hunters of trying to genocide westerners, killing babies in blood sacrifice to the gods etc. Sound familiar? Fact is we did genocide their culture and way of life and exterminated their food source based on these beliefs and i know for a fact that if China tried to impose their culture or way of life on America many on this board would fight back even if they only had a bow. I guarantee the media would paint you as savages for killing the Chinese invaders only trying to deliver you free civilized Healthcare and 300 years from now it would be a matter of fact the the dumb savage trump supporters were baby killers.

-1
somethinga9230k -1 points ago +2 / -3

The elite blame others for what they do and they are accusing a bunch of tribal bow-hunters of trying to genocide westerners, killing babies in blood sacrifice to the gods etc.

The Aztecs did as far as I know enslave and sacrifice humans to such an extreme degree that the tribes around the Aztecs joined the Spanish soldiers to attack the Aztecs. And there is archeological evidence such as these walls/racks of skulls: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tzompantli . That said, see also these of my comments (which seems to be hidden in this thread for some reason):

1
SecondFlamingo22 1 point ago +1 / -0

European settlers didn't kill off all of the native Americans, disease did. I mean it was definitely convenient for the settling of America and avoided a lot of potential outright conflict, but other than a few edge cases like "infected blankets", the vast majority of native deaths were by disease and were unplanned

The american indian is the only CONQUORED people who are given not only free land but a long list of government aid and help from schooling to business to not paying taxes to having their own laws on land GIVEN to them. The native americans lost a war deal with it, they are owed nothing and should be thankful our governmwnt was infinetely more merciful they their own culture was.

3
CuomoisaMassMurderer 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's based off a couple statements by NDN communities:

when the US government says you don't need a gun - you need a gun

and

Sure you can trust the US government

just ask an Indian

Hard to find fault with either.

4
GiveMe1776 4 points ago +4 / -0

The American Indians have the same victim mentality that plagues the black community. They cling to a culture of barbarianism and expect to be successful off of that. The same way the black community needs to get rid of hip hop and gang culture, the American Indians need to let go of the past where their ancestors committed atrocities against other tribes.

"ff ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."

Being able to defend against as well as fix the government is essential in case the government is corrupted, infiltrated or the like (though you should also have systems, ways, methods, etc. for preventing and fighting this corruption and infiltration earlier on). A functional government, or at least a functional, competitive and effective military, is essential for having a chance at surviving and succeeding against external military powers.

The scariest words you can hear are: “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

This is one of the most vile lies ever told.

Germ theory didn't even exist when this supposedly happened.

Some 90% of the native population died from European diseases without ever seeing a white man.

Europeans basically walked onto the set of a zombie apocalypse movie. Tribes had re-formed, with different names. The culture was gone, their whole way of life upended.

We made a horrible mistake by not staying on guard and not resisting lockdowns. China fooled us.

They probably wouldve preferred not being conquered.

Just a wild guess

...that quote cuts both ways.

But also, it is the people's job to police the Gov't as they protect us, it is supposed to be symbiotic. We let our eyes off the ball and they got too greedy in OUR absence. We weren't helped by their purposeful brainwashing of us via covert means. It is not as simple as "don't trust government" unless you want to say "don't trust man" - the truth is more like "trust and hold accountable the actions of man"
