I was raised Catholic and have been on the fence about how I feel since the 2000's.

This new pope has made me sprint away from Catholicism at a breakneck speed.

Still Christian, but Catholicism is about authoritarianism to its core, this Pope is just the last straw on top.

Our first pope did deny Jesus directly, three times. It doesn't get much worse than that.

I don't know of another Pope who was arguably a formal heretic. There were plenty of crooks, but they knew enough to stay away from trying to change dogma.
