This is the entire impetus behind identity politics. If you successfully graft protected identities onto your political ideology, anyone who opposes your politics is a de facto bigot engaging in hate speech. They've pushed this strategy so far that it is now impossible to oppose crime, globalism, immigration, communism, and leftism in general without being racist, sexist, anti-Semitic, etc.

If you are accused of racism or sexism or anti-Semitism in 2020, chances are very good that you're simply telling an inconvenient truth.

Also, the "hate crime" category is unconstitutional.
