While that might be true for the celebrities it is not the same for the grip, the caterer, the sound guys, or even the cameramen. There are a lot of jobs on a set that don't pay more than any other job outside of the studio and that's who Cruz is referring to in this rant.
I have to give props to him, he is legitimately standing up for the little guys in a sphere of influence he can affect.
It is unfortunate, but Hollywood simply needs to die. It is not an industry, it's a massive circle jerk of evil that is self feeding. It is a major source of negative societal impact that needs to find its unfortunate end sooner than later so that other elements can begin to heal and these people can start to find productive positions in and helping to rebuild society.
