Most people prefer shopping in person and will go to smaller groceries to avoid crowds especially during peak hours. Smaller groceries cannot afford to set up online.

I never understood why supermarkets put so much energy into this. A huge part of supermarket planning is the placement of items on the floor to encourage people to buy things they didn't necessarily want or need. The online shopping eliminates that immediately. Not to mention that I've seen some of the people they hire to do fulfill the orders. I want them nowhere near my food.

I live in a Red state and shitloads of small businesses still shut down. They have eviction notices on their doors, even.
One of my favorite restaurants closed. There was never a "full" lockdown here.
