Our thumbnail scraper does not execute JavaScript. Previously, Twitter's site would partially load without JavaScript, but it would not have any of the tweet content, tweet author's avatar, etc. This is why we do not have author icons for tweet posts. It is fixable by executing JavaScript, but it's not important.
Yesterday, they presumably updated their site so that their logo was present even without executing JavaScript, hence why the scraper started picking up the big, blue bird.
We have stopped scraping for thumbnails on Twitter links, so the bird is dead. Old posts linking to Twitter will still have their thumbnails.
I know, this was about the most inconsequential update post I've ever made.

Might start by having the setup scrape for whatever is there (in case it becomes author-avatar again) , --
If the name/size/etc of the result isn't 'the bird' then go ahead and load it.
And if it is 'the bird', then, .. instead, .. substitute-load from among a pool of locally held Geotus / .win / etc images.
(or similar).

I liked seeing the bird. I don’t have Twitter, never have never will - so when ever I see it here, it means based cerities like James woods, rob schnider. Legal warriors like Lin wood and Sydney Powell, dedicated patriots like CodeMonkeyZ and of course the family and loyal staff of GEOTUS.
To me that bird feels like a life line to the events we don’t get to see going on behind the scenes. I have nothing but good experiences thanks to this place of that fuckin bird.
