You fucking tard this study makes the case for mandating masks despite this.

Foxbat 1 point ago +1 / -0

So it codifies the insanity in print.

T_BigD1745 1 point ago +1 / -0

Problem is normies dont give a fuck because leftist morons will just point to the parts that say masks should be mandated and call you dumb for linking that study as evidence you shouldnt wear one.

The abstract says that cloth masks should not be mandated for healthcare workers but should for everyone else.🤡🌎

trump2036 8 points ago +8 / -0

its worse than it sounds, because medical pros are going to be better at handling contaminated objects than regular people. So if medical pros are getting higher infection rates from cloth masks, then regular folk are going to get their ass kicked.

Yeah, people seem to think the masks somehow make covid disappear. I said something like that when my granddad asked where my mask was and I said I'm not wearing one.

Then he said it protects people. I replied that they do nothing. He disagreed, then I said "Supposed you're right and the mask DOES protect you and block the virus...ok now what...the virus would be stuck to the outside of the mask and when you go to take it off the virus will fly everywhere and you'll catch it anyway. "Made him think a bit.

Great point. Also they are worse even without the handling of them factored in:

"More randomized controlled trials should be conducted in community settings"

Here you go CDC, the first and only one - https://www.acpjournals.org/doi/10.7326/M20-6817?fbclid=IwAR1tjWP8B05V5WfkMaOmAJnkXbn6cvjfXp_IRvczx-SYmz6a8VS3NbsUNVA

I for one am anti mask obsession and nobody should be forced to wear one. The weight is on the shoulders of the infected.

That being said, I dont think it's saying they're ineffective, but that they do a horrendous job in comparison to medical grade supplies and respirators and therefore should only be used if desired as a last resort. Also never should medical staff be directed to use them over any other option.

I see that, ny point was that they were just talking about cloth is marginally effective (practically nil considering how often we touch them), but is a horrible idea in a medical space and likely should never be used in that profession and only as a last resort. There's a reason its a last resort... it sucks, but they think it might be better than nothing. I dont think it really is, but they won't admit it.

This fucking retard linked to a study that supports mask mandates with bunk "science". This is not based, it's a trap.

Don't be fooled. This is only so they can try to force us to buy "approved" masks.

TGNX 1 point ago +1 / -0

Wish they had read the article about this that came out in 2015 before praising masks.

1
HiGloss 1 point ago +1 / -0

None of my masks "work" but they are required at the moment if I want to leave my house

1
Ebbie8708 1 point ago +1 / -0

The CDC twitter did say masks should be 2-3 ply.

Bullshit.
