Well it is work. I don't argue that, I was a stripper back when strippers were not considered first class citizens (hell we were considered criminals by default), and we also actually danced lol.
That being said, I see no reason why sex work of any kind should be considered a career goal, or seen as equal in terms of societal benefit to other forms of work. When I stripped it was strictly an economic decision. I needed to make a shit ton of money in as few working hours as possible, legally. And I didn't have bartender training and waitressing jobs that got good tips were hard to get.
I knew damned well it would put me in second class or lower citizen status so to speak. Oh, well. I also knew it would be a short term situation, and it was.
