Don't have a question just wanted to say thank you for taking a stand.

Thanks. I am just one of many that aren’t gonna take it.

Yes. It is currently voluntary, but they have alluded that could change.

If you have to fight this in future, talk to an attorney about using the "my body, my choice" precident that the left loves to rant about to help make your case.

I plan to use a religious exemption because they use aborted feral cells in the production of the vaccine, and being Catholic I cannot partake in anything that was made using the bodies of dead babies. It is immoral and against my religion.

I didn't know that. That's sick.

SAW2TH [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

All three of the current vaccines - Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna - used aborted feral cells in their creation.

2
MsPresElect 2 points ago +2 / -0

That is devastatingly sad and finalizes my decision to not get the vaccine. Thank you for sharing.

Truth can be hard, but lies are worse.

Happicakes 7 points ago +7 / -0

Sounds solid. Hope it doesn't come to that though. Ty for your service!

Your welcome.

If aborted feral cells were used in the development of the product at any point (not just production, but also research and development), the product is tainted and immoral to use.

Thanks. Most of the firefighters I know aren’t getting it.

I do both. There is a strong movement in my department among the rank and file to decline.

Are you union?

Red or blue area? Metropolitan?

Thanks for your Service, I know it's a job and hopefully it's what you want to do, but you still chose to Serve Society. Unlike sanctuary city cops you guys come when we call.

Redneck pro-tip.... if you come to my place be careful, depending on my last boat wreck my closet could be hazardous in a fire situation...

We are Union in red/blue mixed area (suffice to say we have a lot of impoverished areas while simultaneously having one of (if not the) largest military presences in the world). Our population fluctuates between 250,000-500,000 during the business day so we are pretty busy. My engine runs about 3,700 calls a year, and I have been doing it 25 years, so if it gets bad enough that they are forcing us to submit to a vaccine, I could technically fight it a few more months then retire with no penalty.

I will be extra careful around closets the next time I respond. 😉

Are you facing repercussions?

16
SAW2TH [S] 16 points ago +16 / -0

Not yet. They have let it slip that it is “voluntary currently” which tells me that if most of tell them to fuck off they may come back around and require it. I plan to fight it then on multiple grounds - not the least of which is that it used aborted fetal cells during its production.

Are you going to turn down the vaccine if they tell you next time, "It's the vaccine or your job."

?

7
SAW2TH [S] 7 points ago +7 / -0

Yes. I will probably retire as I have enough time to do so.

Why are magnesium fires so hard to put out?

what's the proper method of extinguishing them?

1
SAW2TH [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

All fire is essentially a chemical reaction where the heating of a material creates oxidation of said fuel to the point where pyrolysis takes place and is self-perpetuating.

Taking this science, pyrolysis varies depending on the types of fuel that is present. For example hydrocarbons (gasoline and such) require a certain type of surfactant that can create a seal over the top of the fuel disrupting the pyrolysis. This surfactant is AFFF foam. Using traditional firefighting tactics (water) does little to combat the hydrocarbon fire as water is heavier than most hydrocarbons and will simply cause the fuel to float on top of the water. Magnesium is another variable where using traditional firefighting methods can prove ineffective or dangerous.

The chemical reaction when magnesium burns can use the oxygen present in applied water to stoke the fire and increase it’s intensity. The best way to combat a magnesium fire is to use a dry-chemical fire extinguisher that coats the fuel with non-flammable dust that can interrupt the chemical reaction. Problem with this is that dry chemical extinguishers usually pretty small (hand held) and contain little extinguishing material - which means that it would take A LOT of them to combat a large fire.

If there was a huge magnesium fire it would probably be best to protect exposures and let it burn itself out.

Is your union pushing it? Is it voluntary for now? Is anyone in the union ready to back employees who don’t want to take it? I am also a union employee- so wanting to know how to push back

2
SAW2TH [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Our union is silent currently. I think they are torn between the conservative idea that Trump gave us the vaccine and the leftists giant fear of Covid. Unfortunately the Union is always pro-democrat - which most firefighter I know, hate.

OwnaLib87 3 points ago +3 / -0

RN here. Will not be taking vaccine.

SAW2TH [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

We need a United front.

The whole Covid situation is a lie.

Amy Schumer ugly.

Total PR disaster, would have more buy-in if it was administered by nurses with DD's. Well, to half the population, anyway.

Thanks for echoing what most of us are thinking. There is no way anybody in my family is going to out that poison in our body.
