^^^^ KEK !! SUPER ADVICE ^^^^^ Avoid BEXAR county, TRAVIS County down Austin / S.A. way. Just look up the county Rep / Dem vote count. High Dem vote, more poverty and crime.

I have only Once Voted for a Dem.. I knew him and I knew he was a good guy, the Republican he was facing was a bit of a sleeze ball. but this last election I voted against him for a new unknown republican.. and I told him to his face I could not vote for One Dem this ticket. He was not happy...

Born and (mostly) raised Texan - also IT professional - who left Texas ten years ago to move to Alaska.

Having lived in Texas most of my life - I have watched it change dramatically over the last twenty years I lived there. The sprawl, housing dynamics, and traffic in places like Dallas and Austin is miserable. The "vibe" has also changed quite a bit as more and more of the general public is from some place else. And then there are the toll roads on top of that.

Most folks envision Alaska as "arctic", but as the largest state in the union (approximately 20% of total land area), it actually has several climate zones.

Do some shopping in Southeast Alaska for IT work and when you find a town with an interesting job, check out the town out on Wiki for population, average climate, and so forth. You will be surprised what you find if you do your home work.

Personally I would not consider Anchorage or Fairbanks - I prefer to stay south of Haines and off the road system (most towns in Southeast do not have highways out of town - options are boat/ferry or plane).

Good luck!

Regards,

Cooter

You want Florida, we are a hell hole here in Texas, and besides we're over-run with illegals and Californicators and gangbangers and sanctuary cities and we have mosquitoes bigger than crows and every creek is infested with gators and wild hogs hunt you down in your own community and it's always either drought or flood or hurricane or ice storm and sometimes all in the same day.

Florida looks good tho...

Lots of great Texas areas. Lots of Great Florida areas. Anything 10 miles outside city borders state wide is usually safe ad happy. Still mask free out in Hill Country and central Texas.
