According to the docs in the senate hearing - HCQ helps with the Covid-19 symptoms as well as reduces the viral infection spread (it's an inhibitor, it prevents the viruses from replicating).
However, it was noted that Ivermectic out performs HQC in the anti-viral methods (ivermectin is a much stronger inhibitor) but paired with HQC, the two make a very good cocktail.
Out where I am at, I learned that the vaccine actually uses Ivermectin as a component. That's probably the inhibitor that prevents replication. The second dose is the transporter that allows for the anti-bodies to be of use.
