Could this happen? Insurrection Act gets invoked, shit show ensues, things play out in such a way that as a technicality trump is not inaugurated on Jan 20 but rather he continues to hold office as President until the next national election can be held.

Trump gets an extra 2 or 4 years before getting to run for his second term in a fair election that he crushes resulting in the strongest mandate in the History of the USA.

No -- Inauguratoin Day is January 20th. If the election is not settled, Nancy Pelosi is inaugurated as Interim President.

i have a very difficult time seeing that happen. i would love it if it did, but that seems like a near impossibility
