everyone's living an experience that has some kernel of validity, but that site is so toxic it's not really viewable by normal people. definitely not a good role model
That would utterly destroy this place. They would use botting and fake accounts to completely take it over, like they have literally every other forum. Even 4chan is basically that way. The only thing it has going for it is that it doesn't have the upvote/downvote structure, so it's harder to manipulate and drown everything they don't like out.
The genius of the mods here was understanding this, and acting in a way that seems counter to the principles of themselves and the userbase. Without removing shilling and concern trolls, this place would never have existed in the first place. And if it didn't, I wouldn't be here, and neither would many other people. Donald Trump probably wouldn't even be in the white house at all, honestly.

Reminds a conversation with my friend who quoted stuff from the Bible to call out that I'm not a "Christian" when i got mad and cussed (he's not even a Christian) while also using "forgiveness" as a way excuse all sins.
Yeah, that claim in the OP is not really accurate. However it's OK. We at T_D allow the viewpoints that get censored elsewhere to thrive here, and we only really censor the fake news that is trumpeted elsewhere. Every person has a home, so it's all good.
