Cop here. Not only wrong but massively wrong. Just like everywhere you have shit head employees. You have military vets, patriots and overall righteous God fearing men then you have your faggot commie leftists in police rank and file. When the time comes I damn well along with a number of my co-workers would instantly turn and side with the People if the time comes. Before anyone takes my last comment out of context, I always respect and follow the Constitution and it’s rights allotted to us when dealing with people. But yes just like every other job have faggot commies in our field of work. The hate generated towards cops lately especially here of all places has been genuinely disappointing to read.
Ive personally heard other cops wanting to enforce social distancing and the other bullshit narratives. I reminded them Governor’s orders are not laws and we didn’t swear an oath to the governor but to the US Constitution. The blank dead fish stare seems to be the dead give away that there’s nothing upstairs.
It would probably be split. A Civil War is just that War. Expecting people in a profession to be your side in a conflict because of the profession is a fool hardy expectation.
Frankly if a Civil War did occur. The U.S is likely deader then disco. The Left and Right are both highly fragmented into various factions. That for the most part are only in alliance out of the mutual threat their political opposition poses.
Eliminate one side. The factions of the victorious group will turn on each other in A bid to assure their own dominance.
If anything the Police and Military would likely form their own faction.
I doubt either would act as a unified block. The split on the enforcement of Corona virus edicts points in this direction: Some sheriffs are in open rebellion against their governors, some police departments are getting their Gestapo on.
On the military side, we know the officer corps has been infiltrated to an extent, but I don't imagine many soldiers would be willing to actually fire on American civilian patriots.
My prediction would be something unpredictably messy.

There's 75 million of us. Would it matter much. I don't think so. But it is an interesting question.

Military yes, police no
